HDR, inilah istilah asing yang kukenal pada tahun 2009. Diperkenalkan oleh juragan Igan (agan Igan, sounds redundant :p ) lewat foto-fotonya yg di-upload di facebook. Igan said hdr biasanya dia pake kalo cuaca lagi mendung dan biar awannya keliatan dramatis (hmm, I gotta try it). So, when I went for my christmas holidays back at 2009, I tried this HDR technique in Rome and Valencia. Here are the photos:
When I saw the results, it's like ... woo, memang bener kata agan Igan, awan jadi terlihat lebih dramatis dan cuaca mendung? no problem!
After that, HDR has become my get-away technique for cloudy weather. Selain untuk cuaca mendung, HDR juga bermanfa'at (pronounce dgn hukum tajwid Ikhfa, panjang 2 harakat, jangan lupa bunyi ain-nya yg mantab ya! hehehe) untuk hal-hal lainnya.

HDR (High Dynamic Range) is a set of techniques that allows the opportunity for a greater dynamic range of exposures through digital imaging techniques. It captures the full range of luminosity between light and dark in a single scene. What this means in terms of photography is that the processing of HDR captures everything from dark shadows to bright highlights and combines it into a single image.
Wah rada panjang nih, tapi intinya sih "HDR captures everything from dark shadows to bright highlights and combines it into a single image". Kesimpulannya: dengan HDR, semua detail jadi ter-capture.

hmm, misalnya nih, tekstur awannya lagi keliatan keren, tapi pas difoto, loh kok gak begitu keliatan ya teksturnya. ya wes, berarti harus digelapin dikit nih biar keliatan (bisa turunin ISO or exposure). jepret lagi, yes, keliatan deh teksturnya. eh tapi, yang lainnya jadi keliatan gelap, jadinya gak jelas deh. waduh, gimana dong? pengennya kan semuanya keliatan jelas.
Don't worry, HDR comes to the rescue! :D
